Happy everything to you!

Hello, everyone! And happy everything to you! It’s been way too long since I shared anything over here. Truth is a lot has changed and there’s a website name change, hosting, too. And above all, some teaching projects are underway. So, everything has a different speed in my daily plan.
The card today is created using the Wreath Turnabout stamp set from Concord and 9th. I added it as a new favourite and I am looking forward to giving it a good use in the future. The colours I used come from the ink Cube set no. 13 of My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment using the Black Licorice Hybrid Ink Pad from the same My Favorite Things.
Creating it was a quite interesting experience, this being the first card I’ve made using the Turnabouts.  At first, I thought it\’s going to be quite difficult to rotate the stamp. Then, once started, I enjoyed playing with different ink colours. It is a pretty simple card and I really like it. Hope, so do you. Here are some photos I took of it using my One Plus phone.

Now that the photos are up, I wish that everything goes well with this first post.
Sending you all the best and a lovely day!

Gorjuss – the Hatter

Hi, everyone! Gorjuss – the Hatter crafts are the ones that I’d like to show you today.
I created a card and some bookmarks using this beautiful mini stamp and I really like the way they look. Hope you too!

The card
First of all, I started with making the background on the front cover of the card by using a big rubber stamp from the Toadstools set. Then, I stamped it again on a piece of recycled cream paper and fancy cut it so it fit the oval in the middle of the background. I stamped and then coloured in the Gorjuss girl. When dried, I added some glossy accents on the tulips, wrote the sentiment on the right side and added a blue bow on the top right corner.

smiles

When someone smiles…

WHEN SOMEONE SMILES…

and you are the reason why, the world is so much happier!

This card landed on a very special person’s desk to say thank you for being the reason someone smiles today. And truth to be told, I believe there’s more than one person who does that today!
For this card, I chose a simple technique: stamping only. I used My Favorite Things stamp set ‘Beautiful Blooms‘ and ‘Perfectly Penned‘ from Concord & 9th. The inks come from My Favorite Things too.
imgn0348I see this quote quite often in the art&craft world, especially with those into calligraphy. So, it does not belong to me, but I like it very much. That means you’ll probably see it with my crafts in the future.

Have a lovely day,
Talida

Kindness – thank you card

Kindness begins with each and every one of us.
This being said, I hope you have a wonderful day filled in with joy, happy thoughts and warm hearts!

I created this card a while ago, actually – last year, but haven’t got the chance to share it. It’s part of a set of three thank you cards I made for a dear friend of mine.

img9166

img9176The card base is made of cream card stock, cut and top folded. For the background, I chose simple, that meant a piece of kraft paper. I ran this through the die cut machine using Lawn Fawn stitched border dies. The focus is on the flower. I die-cut it out of a patterned Dovecraft paper using the Daisy layering dies. I threaded it with some lilac elastic twine (cord), added a big button and tied in a bow.

A sentiment that matches the theme is the one I used. It comes from the Hero Arts ‘Acts of kindness’ set. Now, the photos look a bit dark. I took them in a different photo set up where lighting was low. Thanks for your understanding.

Wishing you all the best,
Talida

bundle of joy

Welcome, little bundle of joy!

Hello, everyone and welcome, little bundle of joy! She’s got a beautiful name and an amazing smile! We’d like to wish her health, happiness and God blessings!

The post is about the handmade card that accompanies the gift we got her. The card matches the gift in colour combination with emphasis on red and white while having a bit of contrast in blue and black.

Masculine Tie Cards

Good morning, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.:-)
I’ve got a pair of masculine tie cards to show for today. For some time now, I said I’ve got to design at least one more card each time I set myself to make one. As there are a lot of upcoming birthdays this month I’ve made some extra to build a go to birthday cards stash. Read more

Flowery Notes

Hello, dear friends and crafty people! The post today is about my first notebook. It is a flowery notes sewn notebook. And I hope you like it.
A while ago I saw a #docrafts tutorial on how to do bookbinding and got the idea to create a handmade notebook. I thought, at first, it’s complicated. But then, I said, hey, why not try it and see if that’s really the case?!Though I had in mind that it might take a while to do all the sewing and cutting, it turned out to be less time spent on these as initially expected. And it worked wonderful and I love what I created!

A Wedding Invitation

Hello, one and all! With the wedding season in full bloom and action, I’d like to finally show you the invitations I made for two great friends: Gina & Cornel. Their wedding was a couple of years ago and they’ve been leaving their happily ever after since.
Now, it took me quite a while to assemble this post together as it’s been quite a challenge to decide which ones of all the great photos Cristi took will make it to the post. I have to admit he did a great job as always! The ones I show you here are with the small or big components of the wedding invitations arranged by Cristi himself.

A Wedding Gift

Good morning, everyone! Wedding gift ideas are always welcome and we love to get some inspiration in creating more. Or many, why not?

This was the first cardboard box I have ever decorated and has been an idea that stuck with me later on when I made the desk calendars. It’s a lot of work but well deserved when you look at the result.

Gorjuss Bookmarks

Hello, again! The fourth part of the bookmarks series is based on Gorjuss girls. Oh, how I love them!

The stamps I used are the new ones, the collectibles. They come in mini sizes and are easy to fit on bookmarks too. Gorjuss has been my favourite when it comes to stamping and creating for my dear ones. And since my niece suggested she needs a mouth and a nose, I’ve kept adding them to the original design. The mini stamps chosen for these bookmarks are called ‘I gave you my heart’ and ‘I found my family in a book’. Aren’t they ‘gorjuss’?

For colouring in, I used Promarkers again. And lately, I’ve enjoyed trying new colouring techniques such as layering. You can see that by looking at Gorjuss’s hair. I’m not perfect at this but I’ve been working on it! 😉 Each bookmark has attached either a red twine, lilac ribbon or a multicoloured string. No sentiments or handwriting were added as I wanted to keep the bookmarks as clean and simple as possible.

Of all the beautiful photos, Cristian Istrate took, I kept a few of them. Couldn’t stop under 5. Such hard decision has it been!
Hope you like them. Many thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments.

Wishing you a lovely day,
Talida
