Hi, everyone!
I’ve got a special birthday card with a crossword in it. It’s got the look of a clean and simple card, though it’s a slider one. It uses the Mr. Mister stamp from Docrafts’ collection.
This is a masculine card, but it has lots of potential for various topics and crafts.
I sometimes struggle with ideas for male cards so I try to use something that matches the person I give it to. In this case, it worked really well. And I was happy with the result. The first step was to stamp the crossword in blue on a piece of card. Then, I wrote the birthday message. The third step was to make the cover. So, I stamped some acetate with blue ink, then with embossing glue, added clear embossing powder and heat melt it. It was different than I expected it to look, but it was OK.
The next step was to create the slider pocket. I die cut two rectangles from some green funky foam and card. And then, one more time a one size smaller rectangle inside of each big one. The fifth step was to trim the acetate and the first layer with the crossword.
Next, I went on assembling the slider. I added a blank piece of card and made it slide in and out using some blue twine. I decorated the sides with Tall Urban border stamps too. And ready!
Here’s a video with it.
All the best,
Talida
Love the effect you’ve got with the ink and embossing powder- it’s almost watery. Love that you’ve created a crossword reveal- such a clever idea! Fab card! xx
Thank you so much, my dear Keren! I struggled a bit with the watery effect. At first, I wasn’t sure it’s going to really end up in a finished project. But as someone said crafting “accidents” simply show how unique are the things we create. xx
It makes me say I want one just to better understand ☺
