Hello!
I’ve been thinking about using this ‘Happy Wedding’ stamp set from Lawn Fawn for a while now. And when a friend called and asked for a ‘congratulations on your wedding’ card, I went straight to it.

The theme colour I went for was the pastels. I started with stamping the cake, the sentiment and the birds using My Favorite Things hybrid ink dye in Black Licorice. Then, I stamped the dotted heart string inside the top folded card base.

For the colouring I used my favourite – the inktense pencils from Derwent. They are high quality, so easy to use and I really love their colours! And as I wanted to have a light colouring, specific to a wedding theme, I used the waterbrush, which is one of my favourite tools, too.

To add a bit of dimension, I went and added a blue and golden string that I tied in a bow between the cake and the sentiment.

Many thanks for stopping by and wishing you a great day,
Talida

Happy everything to you!

Hello, everyone! And happy everything to you! It’s been way too long since I shared anything over here. Truth is a lot has changed and there’s a website name change, hosting, too. And above all, some teaching projects are underway. So, everything has a different speed in my daily plan.
The card today is created using the Wreath Turnabout stamp set from Concord and 9th. I added it as a new favourite and I am looking forward to giving it a good use in the future. The colours I used come from the ink Cube set no. 13 of My Favorite Things. I stamped the sentiment using the Black Licorice Hybrid Ink Pad from the same My Favorite Things.
Creating it was a quite interesting experience, this being the first card I’ve made using the Turnabouts.  At first, I thought it\’s going to be quite difficult to rotate the stamp. Then, once started, I enjoyed playing with different ink colours. It is a pretty simple card and I really like it. Hope, so do you. Here are some photos I took of it using my One Plus phone.

Now that the photos are up, I wish that everything goes well with this first post.
Sending you all the best and a lovely day!

smiles

When someone smiles…

WHEN SOMEONE SMILES…

and you are the reason why, the world is so much happier!

This card landed on a very special person’s desk to say thank you for being the reason someone smiles today. And truth to be told, I believe there’s more than one person who does that today!
For this card, I chose a simple technique: stamping only. I used My Favorite Things stamp set ‘Beautiful Blooms‘ and ‘Perfectly Penned‘ from Concord & 9th. The inks come from My Favorite Things too.
imgn0348I see this quote quite often in the art&craft world, especially with those into calligraphy. So, it does not belong to me, but I like it very much. That means you’ll probably see it with my crafts in the future.

Have a lovely day,

Snowflakes, Snowflakes

Hello, there! Just a few days left until Christmas and I would love seeing some snowflakes falling! It would be great!

imgn0168Now, till we have some real ones, please, let me show you some stamped ones.
For this card, I used the snowflakes from Docrafts’ Create Christmas stamp set. It is one that I received as a gift with my Creativity Magazine last year (I think).
I stamped them using Dew Drop fast drying pigment ink in Moonlight White.
The details on the snowflakes are metallic accents using some Sakura gelly roll pens, Papermania watercolour pencil in red and/or my Uniball- Angelic Colour in white.
I chose the sentiment from the Krafty Christmas stamp set from Trimcraft. I’ve recently used the reindeer stamp from the same set.

imgn0170

imgn0174Each of the cards has either twine or ribbon tied on the front cover in order to add dimension and interest. I used Fancy Twine and some twine and ribbon (bought from a local haberdashery store owned by my neighbour).
I love that they are CAS (clean and simple) – not too much, not too many.

Hope you like them too and thank you for visiting my blog.

Through the Clouds

Good morning, crafty friends!
Up there through the clouds there’s a hot air balloon that finds its way to get the birthday message to its rightful recipient.
I’ve been playing around with the idea of clouds and balloons for quite a while and since I had a little time to get it right, that’s what came out of it.
