Gorjuss – the Hatter

Hi, everyone! Gorjuss – the Hatter crafts are the ones that I’d like to show you today.
I created a card and some bookmarks using this beautiful mini stamp and I really like the way they look. Hope you too!

The card
First of all, I started with making the background on the front cover of the card by using a big rubber stamp from the Toadstools set. Then, I stamped it again on a piece of recycled cream paper and fancy cut it so it fit the oval in the middle of the background. I stamped and then coloured in the Gorjuss girl. When dried, I added some glossy accents on the tulips, wrote the sentiment on the right side and added a blue bow on the top right corner.

Birthday card in fall colours

Hello, dear ones! Here’s a birthday card in fall colours. I made this for my cousin who is also a great friend.
The base card and the front cover are made of recycled paper and card. I stamped the leaves onto the same type of paper and then I fussy cut each one of them. I know, I spent some time on it but I can tell you it was well worth it.

imgxi1889For stamping, I used the We R Memory Keepers stamping tool and My Favorite Things ink cubes. I stamped the leaves and the corner border several times, re-inking the stamps with different colours in order to get these beautiful fall colours. Read more

Wedding. Soft colours.

As the wedding season is in full bloom, I think some inspiration would be more than welcome.

Reviewing the posts, the pending drafts that await to be posted for a while, I went on finishing and scheduling some of them. For some people this job seems to be easy and believe it’s done in a few minutes. Actually it takes quite some time to make sure that the draft you came up with is the one you want. That the pictures are the right ones and that are watermarked, properly sized and uploaded and so on. I guess that one of the reasons I love doing this is the fact that it takes time and there’s no pressure. 😉

Now, back to the wedding topic. I posted here some of the wedding invitation samples I made a while ago. As I am creating some new ones and planning to add some wedding favor ideas too, I want to upload all the previous ones I have made so far.

For these ones I went with softer colours like buttercup, lilac and soft green. There are different techniques I used for each one. Read more

Bookster. Oscar. Read’n’Roll

Today’s post is less about the card I made, more about reading and one of the greatest libraries I know of.

Why a card for Bookster ? To express our gratitude for the joy and positiveness they brought into our lives. An experience that definitely changed our lives. What is Bookster ? A whole world of books, articles and case studies run by great people doing what they love most!

A while ago, I had little time for either reading or creating anything but work, work, work. Then, I made a change and here I am: happy, creative and inspired!

I heard about them in late November 2013, when my husband came home very enthusiastic about this new thing at work: there is a library that brings the books you choose to read directly at your office! To tell the truth, I shared little enthusiasm then. We were used to buying our books and the idea did not find its way to us right away.

And there it was: the change. Everyone was talking about the most wanted and most read book at his office: “Oscar and the Lady in Pink” by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt . He signed up on the waiting list. When did it arrive? At the right time. And it hit not only close to home, but home! Or at least, that was one of the possibilities. It made waiting for the biopsy results feel less frightening and more positive. The book itself is a sad story told in a very positive way, changing your perspective towards what really matters in life. Once you started reading it, you couldn’t let it down. That’s what we like about it!

From then on, the thrill and the great experience have started and we both, my husband and I, enjoy to Read’n’Roll’n’Love’n’Share with Bookster!

Here’s the card I made. And yes, it includes in it, as all the cards I make do, a part of my heart and soul!

Jill’s Crafty Challenge

A week ago, on November 25th, I entered Jill’s Crafty Challenge posted on Docrafts.

It was my first attempt to make something starting from a sketch, though I have had the wish to do that for quite a while.

Here’s the sketch:

Sketch_#4

There were many ideas flooding my imagination and had to stop at one.

I used Docrafts’ Create Christmas clear stamps.

Could not resist to leave the card without the personal touch: a bow.

There were lovely cards enrolled and I had a great feeling of who the winner would be. She made a gorgeous scrapbook page. 🙂

Now off I go to finish the details for the 1st Year Anniversary Prize of my Facebook page.

The magnificence of spending time with a bright child, that is all smiles, turns your day into a positive life experience. You notice not the time, but the many things you create together, the laughter and the happiness. It fills your heart with warmth and gives you the energy to move on, no matter what.

So, there we were again, all together,  preparing the small gifts to go to friends and dear ones on March the 1st. We had fun. We all put a bit of effort in and the result was great.

And since my niece had a lot of ideas in mind, she also created some beautiful books: In the Garden and At the Zoo.

A Winter Book. Workshop with Sara.

Another visit. A new workshop. A great project. The Winter Book.

You know, I love spending the time with my niece in a very constructive way! So, we got together again and did some special things.

Since Zvonisor was all alone in the Christmas Tree, I thought it’d be great if Cetinel and Fulgusor will join him.

When we get together, time passes so quick. It really flies! During our last encounter, we had no time for the snowman. And I promised to do that this time.
We had so many bits of materials and so many ideas! They all went straight into the Winter Book. And yeah, we love it!

Reindeer and Christmas Decoration Workshop with Sara

I love working with kids. If I have to choose between watching over or teaching 100 kids and knitting, I’d definitely choose the first. So, every time I meet my niece, we kind of have our own schedule and do a lot of stuff together. This way, we boost our creativity and spend a great time together.

One Saturday afternoon, we planned on doing some Christmas decorations together. We planned quite many and we ended up doing almost all, except one thing, a snowman.
