Stockings

As promised I am back with this year’s Christmas stockings.

Two years ago, I made the first card using one of these die-cut stockings and that was a pretty one. It reached one of my dearest aunties.:)
This year, I thought about having a little bit more fun with the stockings and add some fine details to make them look different and fancy. Do you remember how I told you some time ago that I spent one day die-cutting leaves for the entire day? Well, some of those leaves ended up on these cards.

I’ve seen a lot of cards using more or less the same idea of having some stockings, mistletoe all together in one corner of the front cover. Part of keeping inspired is to do a lot of research, find inspiration, adapt, apply and so many hours of tutorials, videos and so on. That means most of my free time is very well spent on learning and practicing techniques.

Now, about the cards – I used a patterned paper from Forever Friends ‘The Good Life’ Retro Collection A4 Paper pack, added some textile adhesive tape in red and white, arranged the leaves under and onto the tape, wrapped some twine in red and white and tied the stocking into a bow (it was quite a lot of work, but totally worth it), punched some circles out of red card for the berries, decorated the stockings using Docrafts Artiste Gel Pen in white, handwritten the sentiment and as a final touch brushed some Wink of Stella over the berries and the upper part of the stockings.

Love the way they looked when finished! Don’t you?
I’ll be back soon, if I manage to get the posts done in time.

Have a lovely day,
Talida
