Hello everyone,
Hope your year started in full speed, with lots of energy and in good health!
The post today is about the new approach I envisioned for my handmade calendars.
It has been quite a change from a set format into a sort of a frame. Actually, it really is a photo frame. Fancy, right? Well, I must admit I saw it used for other purposes than a photo frame and I had quite a hard time to get to what they originally are used for, to the producer and so on. After I ordered them from an online shop and got them delivered, I found out that I should have gone no further than Ikea to get them. Funny, who would have thought?! Then, what I needed were jump rings, calendar tabs, time and lots of inspiration.
For the front cover I went with Gerda Steiner’s digital stamp of some lovely mice which have their noses covered with glossy accents.:-) That gives them dimension and a lovely feel for the touch. The covers have different colours as they are part of the handmade calendar set given to a lovely mum and her daughter.
The calendars have different inserts to match the colour scheme of the covers. They have handmade bookmarks to be taken out and used for the books they are reading, different patterned backgrounds ready to be filled in with quotes, ideas, post its, flowery backgrounds, die-cut frames, designs and many more can be added. You just need some imagination to put to good work.
I used many stamp sets, digital stamps, dies, inks, watercolour pencils, paint, Promarkers, Stabilo fineliners, Glossy Accents, Stickles, twine, paper punches, a lot of fun and creativity. Love the results!;)
Many thanks for stopping by.
Have a lovely day,
Talida
