Hi, everyone! I have a birthday card to show you today. It’s called Ellie’s balloons.
The stamps I used are part of Avery Elle stamp set ‘Ellie’. The balloons come in two different shapes and for this card I went with both of them. For stamping I used Memento Tuxedo Black and I think I was a bit too hasty and I smudged a bit one balloon string.
My idea for the card was to keep it clean and simple: not too much, not too little.
I started by stamping Ellie, the elephant. Then, I added the balloons, one by one; the sentiments ‘celebrate’, ‘hi’ and ‘smile’ went into the balloons. To keep a good balance, I stamped the little flower and some grass. After that, I started colouring in with Promarkers.
As soon as I was ready, I added Glossy Accents to the balloons. And started taking photos. While I was photographing, I realized that it wasn’t spread evenly. So, I took Anita’s gloss and finished filling in the balloons. The fine tip precision applicator is a must, so I put it on my shopping list. If that was on, I wouldn’t have to go back and add something else. The thing with gloss is that until dried, it looks like egg white.
Then, I thought the card needed a bit more contrast so I added some plum purple string and tied it in a bow. Wow! Loved the result! Hope you like it too.
Many thanks for stopping by and wishing you all a great day,
Talida
