Gorjuss in a cup of tea

There are some new Santoro Gorjuss stamp sets available and one of them is called Sweet Tea.

As I love drinking tea and most of my dear ones enjoy this miraculous drink I knew I’d be using it quite often to make gorjuss crafts with. And as my niece asked me why Gorjuss doesn’t have a mouth I went on adding it. I have also been inspired by a card I saw here. Guess it looks gorjuss, isn’t it?

This card was made as a gift for a dear friend and accompanied a fine Basilur tea pack called Cream Fantasy.

Embossed flowers bookmarks

Hello to everyone!

Hope you all have a beautiful sunny day and that you enjoy it to the maximum! I know I’ve been away for a while and it seems like a long time since I wrote something here, but it’s all worth it and I am back with a lot of energy, health and wonderful ideas. 🙂

As I have a huge stash of pigment ink pads and as they take quite a while to dry when used in stamping, I looked for other ways of getting the most of them. So, I found a very nice video on Jennifer McGuire Ink YouTube channel and thought to give it a try. And oh, my! I so love this new (for me) technique!

I made quite a lot of crafts using it and today, I will show you some of them: embossed flowers bookmarks. Hope you like them. And feel free to comment, recommend and why not ask for your own personalised ones. 😉

March Birthday Card #2

This birthday card went to a smart and lovely girl who turned 11 this March. She likes handmade art&craft and she enjoys making her own bracelets, earrings using various materials like paper, beads and safety pins. This lovely girl is also a good, determined and talented student. And she deserves the best of all!

So, for her birthday card, this year, I used yellow felt die cut petals and a special Papermania brad in sparkling purple for the flower. For the layout I wavy trimmed some textured cream card and wrapped it with amethyst ribbon. I attached the flower to the textured layout, added some foam adhesive on the back to give it a bit of dimension and only then adhered it to the plain cream card. The idea was to have a simple, but elegant and delicate birthday card.

Hope you like it. Thanks for having a look and for your comments in advance. They are always more than welcome and highly appreciated.

Flower embellishments

A project dear to me, close to my soul, made with a lot of passion and love for a dear friend.

It started with a question in a message. And how proud I am for being chosen for the task! The project consisted in making place cards/envelopes for my friend’s daughter christening. As I had the colours and preferences given ahead, I made some samples first. Here they are:

Bookster. Oscar. Read’n’Roll

Today’s post is less about the card I made, more about reading and one of the greatest libraries I know of.

Why a card for Bookster ? To express our gratitude for the joy and positiveness they brought into our lives. An experience that definitely changed our lives. What is Bookster ? A whole world of books, articles and case studies run by great people doing what they love most!

A while ago, I had little time for either reading or creating anything but work, work, work. Then, I made a change and here I am: happy, creative and inspired!

I heard about them in late November 2013, when my husband came home very enthusiastic about this new thing at work: there is a library that brings the books you choose to read directly at your office! To tell the truth, I shared little enthusiasm then. We were used to buying our books and the idea did not find its way to us right away.

And there it was: the change. Everyone was talking about the most wanted and most read book at his office: “Oscar and the Lady in Pink” by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt . He signed up on the waiting list. When did it arrive? At the right time. And it hit not only close to home, but home! Or at least, that was one of the possibilities. It made waiting for the biopsy results feel less frightening and more positive. The book itself is a sad story told in a very positive way, changing your perspective towards what really matters in life. Once you started reading it, you couldn’t let it down. That’s what we like about it!

From then on, the thrill and the great experience have started and we both, my husband and I, enjoy to Read’n’Roll’n’Love’n’Share with Bookster!

‘Many opportunities you have in your life are generated by the energy you create around.’ Sir Ken Robinson

Here’s the card I made. And yes, it includes in it, as all the cards I make do, a part of my heart and soul!

Jill’s Crafty Challenge, February 3rd – A Valentine’s Shaker Card

Hi everyone!

Challenges are always more than welcome as they put my creativity and mind at work. So, thanks a lot Jill for your crafty challenges and sketches.

This time it was about a photo with multicoloured hearts, you can see it here.

My first idea was to use an embossing folder and colour in the hearts with brush pens. Then I thought it would be to simple and I went on making my first shaker card. As a first attempt to this type, I can say I am happy with the result. Next one should definitely be better as I won’t fill the shaker that much. 🙂 I have to admit I went a bit crazy with so many hearts and thought I should add them all.

So, here is the card in details. Hope you all like it!

As always, your comments and appreciation are welcome and well received. All the best to you all!

A ‘musical’ birthday card

When I first saw the Music Collection printables on docrafts.com, I knew I had to use them to make my brother’s birthday card.

He’s passionate about music. He writes, plays and sings his music. So what else would have been more appropriate than a ‘musical’ card on his birthday? We send him many blessings of joy, happiness, health and luck! And wish him ‘Happy birthday’ and enjoy the party!

Vintage Bloomers

Bloomers. Shades of pink. Twine. Sentiments in dark red. And a nice layout to match them all. A birthday card that travelled, again, far away, to the North.

This time, I have also experienced with different backgrounds for the photos. Hope you like it.

Black & White Congratulations Card

Lili Psarudakis, a dear friend of mine has published her first book ‘Face Care’, a book with recipes and advice on natural homemade cosmetics.

What I love most is that it is thought and written for all skin types and it has great advice on how to use essential oils, clay, how to prepare creams, lotions and many more. It also includes some important advice for skin care during pregnancy.

And here’s the card I made for her on this occasion. It matches the colours of her book.
