Pastel Flowers

Hello, everyone!

My card today has some beautiful pastel flowers, delicate leaves and a handwritten sentiment. It is the first one that went to a dear friend, whom I haven’t seen in a while. We had a lovely time enjoying some tea and coffee and talking about so many things… that we didn’t feel the time passed by. Read more

Flowers – Wild Roses

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great summer! And maybe you enjoy cooler temperatures than ours.

I have a beautiful flowers’ card today made using a kind of a not so new technique for me: watercolouring. Technique, I haven’t used quite in a long time (since highschool).

So, first I stamped the DoCrafts Papermania Botanicals’ Wild Rose in black pigment ink on watercolour paper. The next step was the colouring part. I usually go for markers or inks, but after I tried my Promarkers I thought I’d like a softer look and went on trying my Papermania watercolour pencils. Here’s a look at my trial cover for the card. A bit messy, isn’t it? Or not.

Gentleman Birthday Card

A bit later than it should have been, here comes a post about a fine gentleman birthday card I made back in March.

The starting point and inspiration has been a card I made back in December. For this one I used the following: an embossing folder from XCut to make the card’s background, I cut out some flags from Heritage Press papers, added some bakers’ twine tied up in a ribbon just enough to hold a button. Simple and clean.

Hope you like it! 🙂

March Birthday Card #2

This birthday card went to a smart and lovely girl who turned 11 this March. She likes handmade art&craft and she enjoys making her own bracelets, earrings using various materials like paper, beads and safety pins. This lovely girl is also a good, determined and talented student. And she deserves the best of all!

So, for her birthday card, this year, I used yellow felt die cut petals and a special Papermania brad in sparkling purple for the flower. For the layout I wavy trimmed some textured cream card and wrapped it with amethyst ribbon. I attached the flower to the textured layout, added some foam adhesive on the back to give it a bit of dimension and only then adhered it to the plain cream card. The idea was to have a simple, but elegant and delicate birthday card.

Hope you like it. Thanks for having a look and for your comments in advance. They are always more than welcome and highly appreciated.

Birthday card. March. #1

Every day is a celebration of life, joy and health, a birthday of someone dear and close. As there are some I’ve got the chance to celebrate this March, here are some photos of one of the cards I made.

Many happy, healthy, joyful returns of the day!

A ‘musical’ birthday card

When I first saw the Music Collection printables on docrafts.com, I knew I had to use them to make my brother’s birthday card.

He’s passionate about music. He writes, plays and sings his music. So what else would have been more appropriate than a ‘musical’ card on his birthday? We send him many blessings of joy, happiness, health and luck! And wish him ‘Happy birthday’ and enjoy the party!

Dazzling Diva Project: Gold or Anything Goes for Sara’s BDay Card

Inspired by Keren Baker, a designer, whose work I admire so much, I went on trying a new technique and different materials, not to forget that I tried to keep it as simple as possible.

I used a snowflake die cut as a stencil for the multilayered background, heat embossing technique and watercolour markers for Gorjuss. Ofcourse, I had to add a bow as it became sort of my unwritten signature on almost all the cards I create.

Many thanks and photo credit go to Cristi Istrate!

Hope you all enjoy the card as much as my niece, Sara, adores it!

Please note: we experimented with the light so you can see the heat embossing effects better (especially the first one in the gallery).

Here are the photos:

Matching colours

A birthday card made in matching colours with the gift. That was the main idea of this project when I started it. First, I went looking for the gift and once I found it, I knew the colour range and started choosing the materials. I wanted something simple, but elegant. So, I used cream card and envelope, gold paper, brown paper, birthday sentiments paper, gold gems and string.

So, here it is:
