A delicate birthday card

Winter is one of the busiest and happiest seasons in the year! A lot of gifts, a lot of greetings, family, friends and between Christmas and New Year some important birthdays to celebrate too!

Here’s a card I made for one of these birthdays. The themes I chose for them are flowers and pink. I used different materials  such lace, string, twine and paper in various textures and shades.

The birthday card travelled to the North and reached the heart of a great person.

Happy New Year!

A year is almost ready to go and make room for a new one. It’s been a great one, with lots of new things learnt, meeting  wonderful people, having a few great ones by our side, getting healthier, ‘greener’ and stronger, letting go (especially the bad habits) and moving on.

There are some great people to thank to for their encouragement to make my dream keep on, get better in what I do, for the awesome machines I got on my birthday and from Santa, then last but not least to those who entrusted me with their most important days, gifts and life events:

Thank you!

I wish us all to have a year filled up with health, joy and topped with good and happy thinking!

Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!

It’s the 2nd day of Christmas and I hope you all had a wonderful time and that Santa brought what you wished for! We’ve had a great time and enjoyed the celebrations with lots of cheer, homemade biscuits, Christmas cake and great food. What goes on top this year is that for the first time ever I made cabbage rolls, the vegetarian ones, and I baked them in the oven. They taste delicious and have ruled the dinner table!

Wishing you all to enjoy the season’s celebrations and sending you my best and positive thoughts!

Dazzling Diva Project: Gold or Anything Goes for Sara’s BDay Card

Inspired by Keren Baker, a designer, whose work I admire so much, I went on trying a new technique and different materials, not to forget that I tried to keep it as simple as possible.

I used a snowflake die cut as a stencil for the multilayered background, heat embossing technique and watercolour markers for Gorjuss. Ofcourse, I had to add a bow as it became sort of my unwritten signature on almost all the cards I create.

Many thanks and photo credit go to Cristi Istrate!

Hope you all enjoy the card as much as my niece, Sara, adores it!

Please note: we experimented with the light so you can see the heat embossing effects better (especially the first one in the gallery).

Here are the photos:

Jill’s Crafty Challenge

A week ago, on November 25th, I entered Jill’s Crafty Challenge posted on Docrafts.

It was my first attempt to make something starting from a sketch, though I have had the wish to do that for quite a while.

Here’s the sketch:

Sketch_#4

There were many ideas flooding my imagination and had to stop at one.

I used Docrafts’ Create Christmas clear stamps.

Could not resist to leave the card without the personal touch: a bow.

There were lovely cards enrolled and I had a great feeling of who the winner would be. She made a gorgeous scrapbook page. 🙂

Now off I go to finish the details for the 1st Year Anniversary Prize of my Facebook page.

“I do.” Collection. The Beginnings

This is the first article about the collection of wedding cards and gifts. It started with lots of ideas and thrill as one of my friends was planning her marriage. We exchanged some ideas, we set the colour range and off I went putting them all to good work.

I made more than one sample. I wanted her and her husband to be to have a good wide range where to choose from.

In a future post, I will show you the one they chose, the colour range and the gift I gave them on their wedding day (all in matching colours).

Hope you’ll enjoy them. And please feel free to add your comments with favourites, likes and why not: suggestions.

Matching colours

A birthday card made in matching colours with the gift. That was the main idea of this project when I started it. First, I went looking for the gift and once I found it, I knew the colour range and started choosing the materials. I wanted something simple, but elegant. So, I used cream card and envelope, gold paper, brown paper, birthday sentiments paper, gold gems and string.

So, here it is:
